Since 1971, the 1st MB is designed for Ossie Clark. Manolo Blahnik has become one of the world's most influential footwear designers. His shoes have spellbound an international set of adoring and loyal devotees across the globe.
His signature are the most fantastical creations. CAVIARA is a striking open-toe ankle boot in lavender and white jacquard silk with satin trim and cut out details. He is a square heeled bottine, which comes in white leather or a delicate blue row Liberty print, with a corset-like row of buttons on the side...all would be at home in the imaginary world of the Big Top.
This season the designer wanted to follow his wildest dreams and ideas without any hesitation and frawing from all of his lifetime's inspiration . How can you be a member of fashion this summer with out a pair of manolo blahnik shoes? He drew upon historic equestrian paintings and etchings by artists such as Rubens for this set of shoes, with abstracted saddlery,bridle and braiding details. The most notable shoe is a peep-toe lace-up ankle boot which comes in a "hacking" tough brown leather oor in a "dressage" black and red satin.
2010 sees the launch of Manolo Blahniks for Liberty of London; an exclusive custom collection of his work encompassing limited edition Liberty prints, sketches, shoes and specially designed products.
A ‘World of Manolo’ curiosity shop will represent his artistic passions for architecture and illustration as well as shoe design. A special collection of his world-renowned designs featuring exclusive shoes in Liberty prints will be available for the first time ever in the UK outside his flagship store. This room will also be brimming with specially designed products including everything from notebooks to scarves, candles to wellington boots. His artistic vein will run through Liberty for the whole of the season including Christmas.
